Examining misunderstood and underrated films

Not every film initially receives the attention it deserves. Films can be made ahead of their time, released in a climate that rejects them, or taken the wrong way upon preliminary viewings. For no particular reason at all, films can be unjustly dismissed or not praised as highly as perhaps they should have been. In Re(focused)views, I look back at titles that I believe were misread or misjudged, examine what people thought, and then defend the film with an alternate perspective. All entries in Re(focused)views are discussed in detail.
